Our September meeting took place on the 26th at the Cloverdale Middle School.  The meeting was called to order by President Ray Baker.

NEXT MEETING-Monday, October 24 at 7:00PM at the Hilltop in Spencer for the annual Civic Award and

Appreciation Dinner—NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION—Please plan to attend!

 >BRICKYARD-Ray reported that we received our check for $1,856.25.  We even got extra for good inventory control this year!!!  Our total sales were $14,061, but we only get to keep a certain percentage.

>Civic Award-Todd reported that everything was on track for the October presentation.

>Appreciation Dinner-Reservations were taken.  President Ray reminded everyone to make sure we identified all our helpers so that we could properly thank them.

>Photoscreening-Training will be on Saturday, November 5th from 9AM to Noon at the Insurance building at First National Bank.  Other clubs will be invited as well.  The state coordinator will be conducting the training.  Ray asked for volunteers.  Dave Johnson(and Joyce), Larry Haltom, Todd(Katrina?), and Ray(Lisa and Lyssa) immediately volunteered.  The more the merrier, so jump on board.  This could be a very important project for the Cloverdale Lions.

>Memorials to Jack Davis and Charlie Whitaker-Todd spoke with the Whitaker family, and they felt fine with naming a scholarship for Charlie.

>Holiday Decorations-President Ray asked about dates for putting up the Christmas banners.   Larry Haltom said it was usually around Thanksgiving, but we normally respond to Main Street’s request.

>Entertainment-Norv Gottula introduced Charlie Hallam(Cloverdale Town Marshal) and Patrolman Nathan Cleary.  Nathan gave a powerpoint presentation on his trip to New Orleans with a local group to help restore peace in New Orleans. Their presentation was very informative.  They had everyones’ complete attention, and many questions were asked at the end.  Thanks, Norv—Great idea!
