Our February meeting took place on the 27th at the Cloverdale Middle School.  The meeting was called to order by President Ray Baker.  Ray welcomed Vice District Governor Alyn McConnaha to our meeting.

Dues-AWESOME start to the year.  11 of our 16 members are already paid for the year.  Dues are due now for the rest! 

 

>Photoscreening-We have our first screening set up for February 28^th at the elementary school.  The first session will be at 8:30 am with the second at 12:30 p.m. if all goes well. 

 

>Budget-The club officers met to prepare a budget for 2006, and we will vote on it in March.

 

>TRACK INFO-Please be ready to start signing up for the races!  The dates are May 13, May 28 and August 6.  So mark your calendars!!!

 

>Elections-Our election committee will need to meet to for the upcoming election in April.  The members are Todd Lewis, Dave Johnson and Charlie Simon. 

 

>WP Woods and Melvin Jones Fellows-We have donated enough to present another WP Woods award at our October meeting.  Our current budget will keep us on pace to award a Melvin Jones award in 2008.

 

>Entertainment-Our guest was District 25C Vice District Governor Alyn McConnaha.  The VDG asked us to promote the upcoming Lions Leadership Forum.  It will be in Columbus Ohio September 14^th to 16^th.  The speakers are great and it is a great time to meet Lions from all over.  Lion Alyn also spoke about the district convention.  He will be our new district Governor and Lion Ron Spivey will be our new VDG.  Because Lion Alyn is the district chair for the convention, he was given the task of picking up the keynote speaker for the district convention.  The speaker was Samuel A. Milliken our international director.  Lion Alyn took Mr. Milliken on a tour of our state headquarters and he also presented an overview of the state speech and hearing,cancer control, and  eye and tissue bank programs.  Part of the tour included seeing the gamma knife.  It was interesting to hear about the various configurations used by the staff of the gamma knife to concentrate the radiation where it is needed to kill the cancer cells.  The VDG also highlighted these upcoming events:

April 28^th    - 30th State convention Evansville Indiana

July 22^nd- first district cabinet meeting at the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Lebanon.

August 26^th - Banner night at Lebanon (the VDG wants this night to honor the clubs of the district not himself).

February 27^th -district convention in Zionsville
