Our August meeting took place on the 28th at Dave and Joyce Johnson’s house for a wonderful steak dinner. A BIG THANK YOU TO DAVE AND JOYCE! The meeting was called to order by President Ray Baker. Ray introduced a guest, Tom Woodley, who is the pastor at Grace Lutheran Church.

>TRACK INFO-Ray, Mike Buis and Todd Lewis gave a recap of the Brickyard. We had great help, and we were about $20 over in cash. A great year at the track for us—We don’t know the total that we will receive yet.
>Elections-Our officers will stay the same for this year. We still need to recruit a 2nd VP to start the President rotation next year. THANKS to all the officers for doing a great job and hanging in there!
>WP Woods-Past District Governor Carl Goss will be with us in October to present the award this year.
>Budget-The idea to do something at the Christmas parade by teaming with Main Street was discussed again.
>Civic Award-Todd reported that we received a record number of nominations this year. The committee narrowed it down to two and presented those to the club. The club then chose Jeff Rich as the winner this year. Thanks to the committee of Larry Haltom and Charlie Simon for their help!
>Appreciation Dinner-Ray wanted to make sure that we contacted all of our volunteers that helped us this year. We are planning on having it at the Hilltop again.
