Our May 2008 meeting took place on the 19th at T-Bones in the Econolodge. The meeting was called to
order by Secretary Todd Lewis.
NEXT MEETING-Monday, June 23rd at 7:00PM at the Cloverdale ECONOLODGE
(behind McDonalds)!—Please plan to attend!---At this meeting, we will just order off
the menu and pay for our own meals.
>Guests- Lion Charlie Simon introduced Jim Dean as a potential new member-GREAT NEWS!
>Dues-We are down to 2 members that need to pay for 2008. The dues are $52 per year
again this year. The club has already paid the dues to the state and international organizations.
>Track Update- On Pole Day, we sold $2336 and came off $8 long. We had a great crew of
Lyssa Baker, Mac McLaughlin, Ray Baker, Todd Lewis, Larry Haltom, Dave Johnson, Charlie
Simon, Norv Gottula, Jimmy Dean, Rod Garrett and James McKee.
We will be working Indy Race Day(5/25), Brickyard Race Day(7/27), and MotoGP on 9/12, 9/13 and 9/14. We will need all the help we can get. Mike and Todd will check with the Civic League, after their build day on June 7 concerning the MotoGP race to see if they could help us.
>Park-We are working with the Civic League concerning their build out at the Park. The club
has already approved a $750 donation, and they have agreed to let us put up a sign by the soccer field.
>WP Woods- The nominating committee, that is made up of Larry Haltom, Mike Buis and
Todd Lewis, needs to meet to look over the Nomination forms.
>Scholarship Committee- Charlie Simon attended the full day of interviews and Charlie
Simon and Norv Gottula met to discuss the nominees. They said that they selected four very
deserving individuals. Todd Lewis also discussed passing the payment of the scholarships
thru the local Dollars for Scholars so that the scholarships are not offset. The club approved
the processing of the scholarships thru the Dollars for Scholars. Norv and Charlie were
going to attend the Senior Night awards to present the scholarships. Thank you to Charlie
and Norv!
>Adopt a Highway- The date was April 30th and Larry Haltom, Dave and Joyce Johnson,
and Todd Lewis did a great job.
>Civic Award- It is time to start to work on this year’s award.
>MAY MEETING- Since our next regular meeting would be on Memorial Day, we are
moving the date to May 19th.
>Elections-The following slate of officers were elected for the upcoming year(effective July):

>Tail Twister- Charlie recommended the Tail Twister funds be saved all year and used to
buy a Christmas Food Basket for a needy family. The club agreed! Great idea!!
>Entertainment- NONE
