Our October 2008 meeting took place on the 27th at the American Legion. The meeting was called to order by President Larry Haltom. Lion Mike Buis served up some incredible steaks for our club and guests. This was our annual Appreciation Dinner and was attended by over 50 people. Among our guests were PDG Carl Goss, and his wife, Judy.

>Dues-We are down to 3 members that need to pay for 2008. The dues are $52 per year again this year. The club has already paid the dues to the state and international organizations. We will need to drop anyone that doesn’t pay. Invoices have been sent repeatedly.
>Track Update- Mike Buis thanked all those that helped us with our projects this year, and he presented the Civic League with a check for $535.
>WP Woods- Carl Goss did a wonderful job of presenting our latest WP Woods award to Ray Baker. Ray served several offices for the Cloverdale Lions, including President and Secretary. He also started our photoscreening program. Congratulations to Ray. President Larry also presented a gift card to him for his service as our President. Todd Lewis presented an American Flag that had been flown at the Capitol in Washington to PDG Carl.
>New Members- PDG Carl inducted 3 new members for us: Jim Dean, James McKee and Rod Garrett.
>Civic Award- The committee of Norv Gottula, Charlie Simon, Larry Haltom and Todd Lewis presented the Civic Award to Mona Smith. Three of the past winners were also present for the presentation. Mona has been very involved in the 4H leadership, FFA, Cloverdale Elementary PTO, Cloverdale Alumni and Cloverdale Athletic Boosters.
>Raffle- A special THANK YOU to Chicagos Pizza, First National Bank, Cloverdale Agri-Center and Owen Community Bank for donating raffle prizes.
>Entertainment- NONE
